Mark has performed concerts at venues such as the Roxy
Theater and the John Anson Ford Amphitheater in Hollywood,
the Cavern in Liverpool, England, and the Cite de la Musique

2. Lectures
on Chicano music at high schools, colleges, universities,
museums, and community venues
Mark has lectured on Chicano music at colleges and universities,
including Ohio State University, U.C. Berkeley, U.C.L.A., Cal State L.A., Cal State Fullerton,
El Paso Community College, San Diego Mesa College, and National
Hispanic University in San Jose, CA. He's also spoken
at high schools, community venues, and museums such as the Marin County
Civic Center and Museo Cultural in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mark's lecture/performance includes a
photo images, video clips, sound bytes, performances of songs
accompanied by his guitar, and a question and answer segment.

3. Consulting
for museums on the subject of Chicano music
Mark has been a consultant for the Experience Music Project
Museum in Seattle, Washington for the "American Sabor:
Latinos In U.S. Popular Music" exhibit, which ran for
eleven months there starting in October of 2007 and then
traveled to museums across the country, and the Grammy
Museum in Los Angeles for the "Songs of Conscience, Sounds
of Freedom" exhibit, which ran for a year starting in
November of 2008. Click here

4. Songwriter
for other artists, television, movies, and other media
Mark has recorded as an artist for major labels such as
Ode Records, Capitol Records, and A&M Records. His
songs were used on all tracks. Marks' songs have been
recorded by artists such as Herb Alpert, Trini Lopez, Chan
Romero, and Lalo Guerrero. His songs have also
appeared in television productions such as "Murals of
Aztlan" and "L.A. An Artist's View" and documentaries
including "Lalo Guerrero: The Original Chicano"
and "Chicano Rock: The Sounds of East Los Angeles."

5. Musician

Mark has sung background vocals on other artist's sessions
including Harry Nilsson and Los Lobos and played guitar, bass,
and keyboard on other artist's recordings such as Trini Lopez,
Chan Romero, Pat Vegas of Redbone, and Lalo Guerrero. He has also backed
or sat in with other artists in live shows, including Eric
Burdon, Ry Cooder, Denny Laine (Wings, Moody Blues), Joey Molland (Badfinger),
Terry Sylvester (Hollies), Redbone, Flaco
Jimenez, Chan Romero, Tierra, El Chicano, Cannibal & the
Headhunters Band, Dennis Tufano (Buckinghams), Sonny Geraci
(Climax, Outsiders), The Coasters, and his late father,
Lalo Guerrero.
6. Writer
on the subject of Chicano Music
Mark's articles on Chicano music have appeared in magazines
in the U.S. and England, as well as on other websites.
He also wrote an entry in the "Encyclopedia of Latino
Popular Culture" and has written the liner notes for
several albums (CDs) including "Eastside Sound, Vol.
