Pages 3, 4, 5, and 6 contain
miscellaneous flyers from the Eastside Sound era of the East
Los Angeles music scene of the 1960s. The preceding
pages were of flyers I had saved from the era promoting
dances and shows on which my bands had performed. The
following pages feature other flyers I saved of dances and
shows in which my bands did not play, in addition to flyers
I've since received from other musicians from the era.
The purpose of my flyers pages is to bring back memories for
the people who made the music and people who attended the
shows. They are also to show the world how big the
East L.A. music scene was in the 1960s. All the flyers
on these pages show how many bands were involved, the many
venues, and the number of dances and shows that were
happening. It was a scene that occurred spontaneously.
The time, place, and circumstances were just right to make
it happen.
